A Feis (pronounced fesh, plural is Feiseanna) is a competition and celebration of Irish culture. Competitions usually include dancing, voice and instrumental Celtic music, language, baking and art. Feiseanna are held throughout the United States and Canada. For a complete schedule, visit the Official NAFC Feis Information website.
There are several levels of competition at a Feis, from Beginner to Champion. Winners in the Champion category may go to Ireland to compete in the World Championships. At the Mulligan school, we encourage competition at Feiseanna, at the same time recognizing that all of our students are champions.
The Mulligan School of Irish Step Dance and the Tara Dance Company are pleased to host our 9th Feis na Tara, a celebration of Irish dance, music, language and art on July 30th and 31st. More information is available at http://www.feisnatara.org.
